Beano Superstars – Danny

Even the tiniest mention of school is enough to make me yawn. It’s so boring! I’m sure I’d learn more by just getting on with what I want to do, like being outdoors with my friends, exploring and making stuff. I bet pirates never went to school, unless there were actual pirate classes where the lessons were about important stuff like sailing, reading treasure maps and parrot maintenance. 

People see me and my friends just assume it’s total chaos and there’s no-one really in charge. But there’s a Bash Street Kids boss – me! The rest of the gang would probably disagree – especially Toots – but they’re so wrong it’s not even funny. Every pirate crew has a leader. You can tell just by looking at my blam jumper. I’m a pirate without a big boat and the open sea, basically. Maybe I should get a parrot, though?

A true leader doesn’t have time to sit down and make boring plans. They go on a feeling in their stomach and make snap decisions. I am very good at making quick decisions, because I live for action and adventure, something that Mr Teacher and Cuthbert seem to have an allergic reaction towards. They're so boring. I live with my dad Fred and his husband Tom, as well as our dog, Bones. I bet Bones would be a good ship mate on the Good Ship Bash Street (I made that up just now). We live on the third floor of Bash Street Towers. Our mum Linda lives in Nuttytown and we see her most weekends.
