We love them. From their cute meows to their aweome memes, there’s loads to enjoy about our feline friends. That’s why cats have remained a source of inspiration to people throughout history.

For instance, did you know that cats and people have been hanging around together for over 10 thousand years!! That’s a very long time! And in fact, it was the Ancient Egyptians who really got the ball rolling in the ‘worshiping cats’ department, (which they were probably told to do by their mummies). In fact, Ancient Egyptians loved cats so much they worshiped a half-feline goddess named Bastet!

Here at Beano we also love our cats, but only enough to give them an extra tin of Fishy Kitty Chow every now and again. And thanks to the Ancient Egyptians, cats were then introduced into Roman life, becoming truly widespread in Europe around the 4th century AD.

And it’s been pretty much no-stopping for the hairy little creatures since then (cats, we mean, not the Romans) becuase once they hit the Roman Empire the world was their oyster (a marine treat which cats incidently love).

Fast forward several thouasand years and we find ourselves in the midst of the digital age yet cats are still inspiring us to do the most awesome things! And in this case speifically… fly!
