The Magic and Beano comics combined their characters for a fourth year in a row. As WWII came to a conclusion, limited supplies across the country meant that paper rationing was still in effect.

Every annual from this era had a table of contents, just in case you wanted to skip ahead to your favourite strips (or skip over the boring ones!)

Tin Can Tommy and the Goat
Besides the rotated page and adventure story, there’s an artifact from the printing process. To the left of Page 9 you can see the letter ‘D’. These letters indicated every set of 8 or 24 pages, the amount of leaves per folio used for the bookbinding process.
