This is one of their older pranks, but it isn’t any less funny! Ant and Dec hopped the pond to the USA to audition for American Idol, posing as two of the worst rappers of all time! They lose points because it doesn’t look like Simon Cowell was very convinced – but they gain them back for that hilariously awful performance!

2. Stephen Mulhern’s panto prank

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway | Granada Productions, ITV Studios Entertainment, Mitre Studios, Lifted Entertainment | ITV

A simple trick but a great one here! Ant and Dec pranked Saturday Night Takeaway co-star Stephen Mulhern when he was starring in a panto by messing up – well, everything! They jumbled up his props, had co-stars appear late and miss cues, and even sabotage his costumes! Stephen figures out that something isn’t quite right, but it’s still hilarious to watch it all fall apart!

3. Mark Wahlberg serves up shenanigans

The lads take Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg for a go at their game “Get Me Out Of ‘Ear!” Mark serves customers in his London restaurant Wahlburger – with Ant and Dec controlling his every move! It’s especially funny when some of Ant and Dec’s Britishisms don’t translate for Mark!

4. James Corden running late for work

The boys went to America again to prank James Corden, host of The Late Late Show. They take a cue from the name of his show, making James as late to work as possible! James gets very agitated as the disasters pile up, culminating in a (fake) medical emergency) for an audience member – but when the jig is up, James can’t help but join in the laughter!

5. One Direction get put on the spot!

Not even One Direction were safe from Ant and Dec’s antics! The band attended an interview with their two biggest fans from New Zealand – or so they thought! Ant posed as a New Zealand TV presenter while Dec pretended to be a teenage fan. Things took a turn when Dec became so overwhelmed he fainted, and had to be seen by a paramedic! It was all a ruse of course – but they really had the Fab Five going!

6. Amanda Holden’s furniture fiasco

Ant and Dec turn their attention to Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden! She always said they’d never get her in a prank, but they managed to prove her wrong! The lads lure Amanda into appearing on a fake talk show to chat about her home furnishing company, only to throw her off at every turn! From calling her by the wrong name, to gluing the drawers of her sidetable shut, to rigging the shelves to collapse – Amanda didn’t suspect a thing until Ant and Dec showed up!

7. Gordon Ramsey gets trapped!

Would you play a prank on Gordon Ramsey? For some people that would be WAY too scary – but not for Ant and Dec! They posed as handymen Juan and Son, and showed up on the set of Gordon’s American TV show MasterChef. Gordon was furious at the feckless father and son all day, but when they locked him in his dressing room he flipped his lid! The funniest part? When a guy with an axe chops his door down, but Gordon is FAR more offended by the disgusting burrito left in his dressing room!

8. Bear Grylls is left in the dark

Did you know that there are some restaurants where you eat entirely in the pitch black? No joke, they’re actually kind of cool – unless you’re being set up by Ant and Dec, of course! Fearless Bear Grylls went out for dinner with his wife, unaware that Ant and Dec are right in front of him, messing absolutely everything up! Using infrared cameras, the duo mess with Bear’s meal, control the waitstaff, and make things as unpalatable as possible!

9. Olly Murs’ wax nightmare!

When a celeb is chosen to appear as a waxwork at Madame Tussauds, they usually pose for some reference pics. Ant and Dec took it a step further when they invited singer Olly Murs along to get his measurements taken. After making him do all sorts of silly poses, they then trapped Olly in the scanning machine – and then started dripping goo on him! You can’t blame Olly for panicking, but he was all smiles when the prank was revealed!

10. Holly Willoughby and the matrimonial mishap

Everyone likes a nice proposal – but what about a not-so-nice one? Ant and Dec pulled an epic prank on their friend Holly Willoughby, but they had to put a lot of prosthetics on to trick her! The lads posed as contestants on her show Surprise Surprise, where Ant proposed to his (fake) girlfriend live on air (via the boyband Blue – there’s a LOT going on here) – only for her to say no! Holly’s face when it all goes down is priceless!

11. Cat Deeley’s koala crisis!

Ant, Dec and Cat Deeley used to present children’s TV show SM:TV Live together – so of course, they had to prank her at some point! Cat appeared on CBeebies to talk about her new children’s book The Joy In You. Little did Cat know that the whole thing was a total set up! The lads leave smelly food in her dressing room, stage the silliest photoshoot in history, and start a fire on the set! Cat was a very good sport even before the prank was revealed, and we got to see an adorable dancing koala!

12. David Dickinson’s dodgiest deal

David Dickinson is one of the top TV stars of the 2000s, best known for his antique dealing and his spectacular tan! In this spectacular set-up, Ant and Dec rig a vintage car to flip over and explode, making David believe Dec’s alter-ego Alfie was inside. The crash was performed by a stuntman, and when the big reveal came David exclaimed “You two have done me up like a kipper!”

13. Bradley Walsh and the two-time trick

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway | Granada Productions, ITV Studios Entertainment, Mitre Studios, Lifted Entertainment | ITV

Bradley Walsh is another huge TV star – but that won’t save him from Ant and Dec! Back in 2005, the dynamic duo invited Bradley to appear as the celeb speaker at a (fake) corporate dinner. After winding him up all evening, they drive him to an angry outburst – only to reveal it was all a set-up! But not content with one prank, they went back in for seconds fifteen years later! Ant and Dec took over an episode of Bradley’s show The Chase and spend the whole show messing with the show’s sound design, making the contestants say silly things, and putting RIDICULOUS questions on the screen! The pretend contestants also racked up the highest cash prize EVER seen on the show! Bradley was devastated to find out he’d been had again – maybe Ant and Dec should watch their backs!

14. Dermot O’Leary’s supermarket sweep

In one of Ant and Dec’s “Get Me Out Of ‘Ear!” pranks, presenter Dermot O’Leary goes to a supermarket with an earphone in – and he has to do EVERYTHING Ant and Dec tell him! This one is so good we don’t want to spoil it too much, but our favourite bits are: pineapple skittles, the megaphone, Dermot sitting in the trolley, and Dermot’s “Eggs Factor”!

15. Jonathan Wilkes turns the tables!

TV presenter Jonathan Wilkes took revenge on behalf of everyone the lads have ever pranked by giving them a taste of their own medicine. He invited them to a night at the dog track, only to beset them with his overly affectionate (fake) family members! The lads humbly accepted their turn on the receiving end – what good sports!
