1. She Was Born on May 19th, 2003

Joelle Joanie ‘Jojo’ Siwa was born on the 19th May, 2003, which makes her a Taurus! Taurus’ are apparently loyal, dedicated, patient, stubborn and an Earth sign, which means they are hard-headed and serious! Hmm, is Jojo that serious? We’re not sure!

2. She is From Nebraska

Jojo was born in Omaha, Nebraska in the USA. Her mum is a dance instructor and her dad is a chiropractor, and she has an older brother, Jayden.

3. Jojo First Got Famous on Dance Moms

Jojo’s first big break came on the show Dance Moms in 2013 and its spinoff Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, which followed her journey as a dancer under instructor Abby Lee Miller. She was just nine years old when the show aired!

4. She Was Very Young When She Started Performing

Although she appeared on TV at just 9, by then Jojo had already been dancing for several years! She first started performing in dance recitals and local theatre at the age of just TWO years old! Wow!

5. She Loves Bows

If you know one thing about Jojo, its that she LOVES bows! Jojo has made bows her trademark accessory, and is never seen without one in her hair! She says her bows represent confidence and power, and she has a LOT of them – over 800!

6. She’s Been on The Masked Singer And Dancing With the Stars

As well as appearing on Dance Moms, Jojo has showcased her singing and dancing abilities on The Masked Singer (where she was Black Swan) and Dancing With the Stars, where she was partnered with Jenna Johnson, and came 2nd!

7. She Has a Dog Named Bow Bow

In a very on brand move, Jojo named her dog Bow Bow (a teacup Yorkshire Terrier) as an homage to her favourite thing – bows! She also has two other dogs, called Tooie, who sadly passed away, and Buddy.

8. She’s A Member of the LGBTQ+ Community

Jojo is a proud member of team rainbow, and announced she was dating Kylie Prew, who she met on a cruise ship, in 2021. She is currently dating another dancer, Dakayla Wilson. They met whilst filming a series of So You Think You Can Dance.

9. She’s a Natural Brunette

Jojo is famous for her bright blonde locks, but she’s actually a natural brunette! She revealed that her mum has been dying her hair since she was a toddler!

10. Jojo Had a Claire’s Accessories Range

Jojo collaborated with Claire’s Accessories to bring out her own range of hair bows in lots of different colours and styles. They were so popular in the UK that some schools had to ban them! In total, Jojo and Claire’s sold a whopping $80 million worth of bows!

11. Her Debut Single Was Called ‘Boomerang’

It came out in 2016, when Jojo was just 13 years old, and deals with the pressures of bullying. The music video alone has one BILLION views, and the song has been certified gold!

Jojo released her first EP, ‘Guilty Pleasure’ in 2024, which included the single Karma.

13. You Can Eat Jojo Cereal

Yes, Jojo has her own cereal! It’s called ‘Strawberry Bop’ and it includes red cereal pieces and star, heart and bow charms!
