She started modelling at the age of 3, and by the age of ten she’d starred in a lot of adverts and a recurring role in a soap opera. 2. She has 3 siblings

Lindsay’s character in Freaky Friday is Anna, a rebellious teenager who plays lead guitar in a rock band. Lindsay spent around a year learning to actually play the guitar for her role! She was overdubbed by a professional guitar player in the final film, but it made her hand movements look authentic.

6. She can sing!

This won’t be a huge surprise if you’ve seen Freaky Friday – Lindsay sang the final song of the film, Ultimate. But she also had a huge musical career of her own! Lindsay released two albums, Speak and A Little More Personal (Raw). Singles from Speak charted highly, establishing Lindsay as a bona fide popstar! She also appeared on English band Duran Duran’s fifteenth album, and has been a judge on the Australian version of The Masked Singer!

7. She auditioned for the role of Regina George

Mean Girls might be Lindsay’s most famous film. She plays Cady Heron, a naive everygirl who goes to an American high school for the first time at the age of 16. But did you know she didn’t originally audition for that role? Lindsay wanted to play Regina, the scheming queen bee and head of the Plastics! She wanted to do something very different from her other roles and play a real mean girl. The producers preferred her as Cady, and the role of Regina went to Rachel McAdams. Lindsay was a little rebellious on set though: she always wanted to wear the plastic costumes Cady wears later in the film, and she method acted by bedazzling her mobile phone with crystals!

8. She had a famous roommate!

They upstaged each other at their premieres, and Lindsay made fun of Hilary when she hosted American comedy show Saturday Night Live. But they made up later, and Lindsay was supportive of Hilary’s album release.
