Sabrina Carpenter is one of the biggest names in pop, and like lots of other popstars she started off as a child actor! But where exactly did she come from? 1. She’s from Pennsylvania

Sabrina Carpenter grew up in Pennsylvania, USA, in a musical family. She started making music from a young age, with a bit of help and encouragement from her dad, David Carpenter. At just 10 years old, she started posting videos of herself singing on YouTube, and soon started getting lots of attention! Her early inspiration was artists like Christina Aguilera and Adele – little did she know she would be as big as them one day!

2. Miley Cyrus helped her get her big break

Yup, you read that right! Despite being known for playing rebellious teen Maya Hart in Disney’s Girl Meets World, Sabrina’s fame journey actually began much earlier — and it’s all thanks to Miley Cyrus. At just 11 years old, she landed a role in a show called Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Sabrina managed to secure the part after coming third in Miley Cyrus’ singing competition, The Next Miley Cyrus Project.

3. She beat the bullies

Despite her incredible voice, Sabrina wasn’t always encouraged to sing. In an interview, she revealed that she was actually bullied for her singing as a child. She didn’t let that stop her though and she kept chasing her dreams, which clearly paid off!

4. The Disney Channel Era

Sabrina got her big break in her role as Maya Hart in Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World, a sequel to the ’90s series Boy Meets World. Her version of the rebellious but kind Maya earned her lots of praise and her first big fanbase! As well as being great practise acting – the part also gave her opportunities to sing too, all skills that would be very useful in future!

5. Sabrina the Pop Star

While acting, Sabrina also started making music. In 2014, she signed with a big music company called Hollywood Records and released her very first song, “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying.” The song was fun and catchy, and lots of kids and teens immediately loved it. When she released her first mini-album, her journey as a pop star had officially begun!

6. The star of Mean Girls

Sabrina got to live out a big dream when she starred in the Broadway musical Mean Girls as Cady Heron. Even though the show had to stop because of the pandemic, Sabrina loved being part of the theater world and plans to do more in the future. At this point, she can probably do anything!

7. She has some weird allergies

Sabrina has some unexpected allergies! She can’t eat raw apples or almonds, and she’s also allergic to nickel, a metal found in some jewelry. Even though she’s a little allergic to dogs, that hasn’t stopped her from loving and caring for her own furry friends!

8. Her aunt is Bart Simpson

Well… not literally! But did you know Sabrina’s aunt is the voice of Bart Simpson? Nancy Cartwright, who voices Bart and a bunch of other characters on The Simpsons, is Sabrina’s aunt! Seriously! It could be that her aunt’s advice helped her make it big – or it could just be a funny coincidence. Who knows?

9. She likes to make collabs

Sabrina has teamed up with lots of other cool musicians like Jonas Blue and Saweetie. One of her songs, “Skin,” even made it onto the Billboard charts! These collabs show how she’s always up for working with different people and exploring different styles of music.

10. She’s never stopped acting

After her Disney Channel days, Sabrina didn’t stop acting! She’s been in movies like Tall Girl and its sequel, as well as a fun comedy called Emergency. Sabrina’s acting and singing careers keep getting bigger, and she keeps landing better parts!

11. Sabrina Doubtfire

Sabrina has a habit of checking into hotels under the fake name “Mrs. Doubtfire.” In an interview with Vanity Fair, she confessed that she enjoys the prank and loves seeing hotel staff holding signs with the name “Mrs. Doubtfire” at arrivals. Though they’re often confused at first, some eventually catch on! And it’s one way to avoid getting mobbed by paparazzi too!

12. She’s good at social media

Sabrina loves connecting with her fans online and sharing fun moments from her life. She’s gained lots of fans for her amazing fashion sense, pets, celebrity lifestyle and sense of humour! She often chats to Taylor Swift on social media too!

13. What makes her so cool?

Well one answer might be… ice baths! These aren’t just regular baths—they’re tubs filled with freezing cold water and lots of ice. Taking an ice bath is supposed to help reduce soreness, calm the body, and even boost energy. And Sabrina apparently loves them! She’s now part of a growing group of stars like Lady Gaga and Lizzo, who also love this chilly habit. We’re not sure about it to be honest!

14. She got in trouble with the Church

Sabrina’s 2023 music video for Feather stirred up some unexpected (and religious) controversy. The video, shot inside the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn, didn’t sit well with Bishop Robert Brennan. He said the choice of location was “appalling” and was so upset that he decided to remove the priest who allowed the filming. Yikes!

15. The future’s bright for Sabrina!

Sabrina isn’t just focused on her music and acting—she’s also committed to making a difference in whatever way she can. She supports important causes like mental health awareness and children’s rights, and uses her platform to help others. Sabrina dreams of directing and producing her own projects.
