Beano Superstars – Wilfrid
Meet Wilfrid, one of the Bash Street Kids!
Do I really have to do this? All right, all right. It’s fine. I’m just glad I can type this and don’t have to say this stuff out loud. I’m a bit quiet, if you haven’t guessed already.
My name is Wilfrid Wimble. Not Wilfred, but Wilfrid. I go to Bash Street School and spend most of my time hiding my face in my jumper. I’m just shy and my jumper makes me feel comfortable. I don’t think anyone has seen my neck before. Even me!
Even though I’m shy, I’m friends with everyone in my class, especially Freddy and Plug. They let me be who I am and know that I’m not keen on being the centre of attention. When I say everyone, I mean everyone apart from Teacher and Cuthbert Cringeworthy, who spends all his time being a telltale. Has anyone said they’re friends with Cuthbert yet? I bet the teacher has said yes. Cuthbert is Teacher’s eyes and ears whenever his back is turned in lessons or if he has to leave the room. You can guarantee Cuthbert will be taking notes or putting his hand up to get us all into trouble.
I live with my mum, my dad, our dog Manfrid and Irma the tortoise on the seventh floor of Bash Street Towers. Spotty’s family are on the next floor up and they’re the noisiest family!
My dad drives the bus in Beanotown. He’s a good driver, unless you count the time he drove into the town hall or bumped into the Mayor’s car. Wilbur Brown was not happy. He always seems to be moaning about something, whether it’s Har Har’s Joke Shop or whatever Dennis and Walter are fighting about at the moment.
