It’s Bananaman’s Birthday And We Want YOU To Share Your Funny Superpowers With Us!

There are plenty of superheroes out there but only one can save the day and count towards your five-a-day... that's right, we're talking about BANANAMAN! 

On the 16^th of February, Britain's greatest superhero will be celebrating his 45th anniversary and to do so, he wants YOU to share your funny superpowers with us by either DRAWING or DESCRIBING your superhero secret identity! How awesome is that?!

Need some inspiration?

Well, Bananaman has the muscles of 20 men and the brains of 20 mussles, and is Britain's Funniest superhero so when it comes to creating your character, the sky is the limit! You can be as imaginative as you want!

And if you need some motivation? Well, we've got some banana-tastic prizes for you, because your artistic creation could feature in the Beano comic and you could win a Bananaman goodie bag!

Not only that, but one lucky winner will get a signed Beano portrait of themselves, with Bananaman and his new best bud Mike Tindall framed and illustrated by a Beano artist! Woof!

How can you get involved? Simples. Just get your groan-up to send a hi-res photo of your creation to [email protected] which you can find in the comic or use page below.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

These are the Competition Information and Terms and Conditions for the “Bananaman 45^th Anniversary” Competition.

To enter the competition, parent/guardian should submit their child's/children's creations, in the form of written words, drawn pictures, or written words and drawn pictures. Children can use the templates published in Beano on 12.02.2025, 19.02.2025, and 26.02.2025.

The creations should be sent to [email protected] by the Closing Date, along with the entrant’s first name only, age, and parent/guardian’s name.

Each week’s entries will be shortlisted on the following dates: 10.02.2025; 17.02.2025; 24.02.2025; 03.03.2025, to create a final shortlist, which will be judged by a panel of judges and an independent judge on 05.03.2025.

The competition opens at 12:00am on 07.02.2025 (the “Opening Date”). The competition closes at 11:59pm on 28.02.2023 (the “Closing Date”).

15 competition entries will be selected as winners to feature in three issues of the Beano comic. Each Beano comic issue will showcase five different winners' creations, and each winner will have their creation appear in only one Beano comic issue. This will be published in the Beano comic issues on-sale on 09.04.2025, 16.04.2025 and 23.04.2025.  

The authors/artists of all 15 winning entries will also receive one Bananaman-themed goodie bag with one of following items each; one Bananaman drawstring bag, one Bananaman keyring, one Bananaman pencil case, one Bananaman Croc Jibbitz, one Bananaman pin, one Beano pen, one Beano wristband, one copy of Beano comic issue 4273 and one copy of Beano Presents: Bananaman (15 goodie bags in total for 15 winners). Only one winner out of the 15 winning entries will receive a signed Beano portrait of themselves alongside Mike Tindall and Bananaman, which will be framed and illustrated by a Beano artist. The winner of the signed portrait will be selected by Mike Tindall himself, on behalf of the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Each week’s entries will be shortlisted, and the final shortlist will appear on beano.com/bananaman on 30.04.2025.

The winners will be notified on 06.03.2025 and the prizes can be redeemed until 07.05.2025

Names of winners may be published by Beano Studios in our relevant publications and/or on online and social media channels. 

The competition will be promoted in the Beano comic on 12.02.2025, 19.02.2025 and 26.02.2025, on the website at www.beano.com/bananaman and on social media channels.
