We've got so many Minecraft quizzes it'd give Mojang a migraine! Anyway, back to those facts...
1. Explore the world!
Did you know there's a LIFESIZE copy of the ENTIRE WORLD in Minecraft? It's a project called Build the World and it's trying to recreate all the deserts, oceans, mountains and cities on Earth. It's not quite finished yet, but when it is - you'll be able to climb Mount Everest, explore the Amazon and jump down the Grand Canyon. In Minecraft!
2. Ghasts are actually cats!
You know those squeaky noises ghasts make? They're actually recordings of the Minecraft sound designer's cat! He also wanted to use his pet moggy for the ocelot sounds, but the purring wasn't quite right. Shame.
3. Minecraft at school??
In Sweden, some kids get to play Minecraft at school! And not sneakily when their teacher isn't looking, but as a way to learn about cities, the environment, and other super-important things. Sounds way better than school over here!
4. Sometimes the game spells its own name wrong!
One in every 10,000 times you start the game, the loading menu will spell Minecraft wrong - spelling it "Minceraft” instead. We're not sure if this is a glitch or a joke... have you spotted this spelling mistake yet?
5. Heads or tails?
You can tell a wolf's health by looking at it's tail. If it's up, it's happy and healthy. Down... and that's one sick puppy.
6. Minecraft's creator has a special avatar
When Markus Persson (the guy who invented Minecraft) plays the game and dies, his character drops an apple. He's the only player in the whole game to have this special feature! In fact Enchanted Apples, or Notch Apples, are still the most powerful food item in the game, and are named after him.
7. You can play Minecraft INSIDE Minecraft!
Did you know you can build computers inside Minecraft? Using redstone blocks, you can make a simple computers that can do word processing, difficult sums - all using redstone signals instead of electricity. Even better than that, one absolute genius programmed a version of Minecraft that you can play on one! Woah!
8. You can milk a Mooshroom!
You know those rare cow/mushroom things? Yep. They're Mooshrooms and they live in the mushroom fields biome. You can milk them just like cows - but they give you mushroom soup instead of milk! Weird!
9. Endermen speak backwards English!
That's right, Endermen speak English. The only catch is they do it backwards! No wonder they sound so weird.
10. Minecraft is bigger than Earth!
It's actually MUCH bigger than Earth. So big you can keep walking in a straight line for 60,000 km! That makes the whole map about 4 times bigger than planet Earth - or the size of Neptune!
